Precipitated Calcium Carbonate qualified in Building Material
GlobeNewsWire, October 22, 2026
Travertine, together with partner Arianne Phosphate, have successfully produced a marketable precipitated calcium carbonate (“PCC”) co-product during the production of purified phosphoric acid (“PPA”). Travertine’s proprietary process produces PPA while recycling the sulfuric acid used in the process. Rather than a waste phosphogypsum, the Travertine process produces a precipitated calcium carbonate co-product, which, when provided to a Canadian building materials end user, was successfully tested in one of their building material formulations. The Travertine process brings together the phosphates and cement industries to provide greater economic benefit while reducing environmental impact.
