Travertine Technologies is building a demonstration plant in upstate New York that aims to capture atmospheric carbon dioxide using an electrochemical process that repurposes mining waste. The facility, developed in partnership with Sabin Metal Corp., will recycle discarded gypsum into sulfuric acid for use in refining operations, while permanently sequestering CO2 through carbon mineralization.
