Colorado firm launches first-of-its-kind carbon-negative demonstration plant in Wayne County

“Travertine Technologies has launched a carbon-negative demonstration plant in Wayne County, New York, utilizing industrial waste gypsum and Direct Air Capture (DAC) technology to remove carbon dioxide (CO2) while producing valuable chemicals and building materials. The process generates sulfuric acid, green hydrogen, and calcium carbonate, with local partner Sabin Metal Corporation set to use the sustainable sulfuric acid.”
